A friend at work who also shares an interest in photography started one a few days ago and I liked the look of it so I thought I'd check out others too. I have my own template based website which is fine for showing some images but doesnt really tell any of the story behind the shoot, how the shot was taken etc plus there is also a limit to the amount of shots I can put on it.
Anyway I decided to start a blog and see what happens, I'll try and keep it as fresh as I can but I'm not making any promises. If you decide to comment on one of my pictures please feel free to be brutally honest. I'm always looking at improving my photography so any criticism or advice will be welcomed.
This is the first shot, and suprisingly one I like (I VERY rarely REALLY like any image I've taken). It was taken at the Swale Festival of Transport at Brogdale Farm near Faversham last weekend. A friend of mine has been involved in running this show for several years which is organised by volunteers to raise money for the Kent Air Ambulance Trust. I was asked if I would spend the weekend as the official photographer for the event. I jumped at the chance! Although it was unpaid it was for a good cause and would be good practice. I managed to rope in a friend of mine to help out and hopefully between the two of us we will have some hald decent pictures. If there is anything good enough that comes out from our shots we intend to put them in an online gallery for sale with 100% of the profits being given to Kent Air Ambulance Trust.
I had a great time photographing the event its just a shame that with these events its hard to get shots without background 'clutter' such as other cars and people (oh, and reflections in chrome from the hi-vis vest I had to wear!) but thats only to be expected at these types of events.
Thats all from me for now, I'll post more pictures soon from the Swale Festival of Transport and also the Chrome & Cruisers event.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and feel free to subscribe if you wish,
Regards, Lee
